At South Luangwa National Park you’ll seek out some of Africa’s big cats on an unforgettable evening game drive, before heading to Malawi known as the warm heart of Africa.

You’ll discover the fresh water jewel of Lake Malawi where you can simply relax on the shores or try your hand at a multitude of water sports. Be enthralled by Africa’s tribal people and wildlife unchallenged in their diversity. Explore the coastal reefs of exotic Zanzibar Island in the Indian Ocean, and make your way down through the plains of the Serengeti; and Africa’s spectacular Rift Valley, with the wide-open plains of east Africa stretched before you. Day 1: Victoria Falls, Zambia

The 21 day Victoria Falls to Nairobi – Northern Trails tour starts at the spectacular Victoria Falls -one of the ‘seven natural wonders’ of the world. Meet up with the tour here and explore Victoria Falls at your leisure. Take a sundowner cruise or enjoy hoards of other adventure activities. Your camp is close to all the bars, restaurants and hot spots. When you book this 21 day Victoria Falls to Nairobi – Northern Trails tour you will be advised of where your Pre-Departure meeting will take place. This meeting covers all the aspects of the trip. Please bring with you to this meeting: your passport with relevant visa’s and evidence of medical and personal insurance. Please also bring the Local Payment. This must be paid to the tour leader prior to departure and must be paid in US$ – Cash. Day 2: Lusaka, Zambia

You depart early on your 21 day Victoria Falls to Nairobi tour for Zambia and Lusaka and camp on the outskirts of the city in a ‘privately’ owned rest camp at Eureka, where you might be in for some game viewing. Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner.

Day 3: Bush camp

You proceed through pristine African bush to a bush camp in a village. This is a fantastic way to catch glimpse into authentic rural African life. Stops at various villages have been very carefully chosen in conjunction with the chiefs of each village, and your guides will advise you on some guidelines for responsible tourism. Days 4 & 5: South Luangwa National Park, Zambia

Heading north on your 21 day Victoria Falls to Nairobi tour you visit the awesome South Luangwa National Park notably one of Africa’s best-kept secrets. With over 9000 km2 ( 3474.9 sq miles) of pristine wilderness, South Luangwa is teeming with over 47 animal species – herds of Buffalo, Elephant, Zebra, Hyena, Jackal, ’15 different antelope’ and the endemic Cookson’s Wildebeest and Thornicroft’s Giraffe. You will enjoy 2 included game drives into the park – one will be a 4-hour drive starting at 6am and slightly later during winter. The second game drive will be that evening – departure time will be 4pm once it gets dark you will make use of a spotlight to track down the ‘nocturnal’ species such as Leopard and spotted genets returning to an already prepared and welcome dinner at 8pm. Camping at Flat Dogs. (A ‘flat dog’ is a crocodile!). Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner.

Days 6 & 7: Lake Malawi – Senga Bay, Malawi

You depart early on your 21 day Victoria Falls to Nairobi tour for your border crossing into Malawi, the ‘Warm Heart of Africa’. You will have a chance to interact with these wonderful rural people when you visit the lakeshore fishing villages. Lake Malawi is a stunning freshwater lake that stretches the whole length of Malawi and is the lifeline of the country. Home to over 350 species of fish and its fresh clear water and beaches are excellent for swimming and relaxing. Rural fishing villages line the shoreline and you are free to explore them, visiting small schools and markets. You travel up the lake stopping at carefully selected camps. There will be ample time at Senga Bay to relax and explore, and try the many optional lake activities such as sailing, snorkelling, windsurfing and water-skiing.

Day 8 : Lake Malawi,- Chinteche, Malawi

Your 21 day Victoria Falls to Nairobi journey continues up the lake to beautiful rural Chinteche, where you camp close to the shoreline. There is the possibility of doing an optional transfer by boat further north up the lake to Nkhata bay or Kande beach, where scuba diving is available and other optional water sports and activities. There is a bar and restaurant available at the camp, Chinteche Inn. Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner.

Day 9: Lake Malawi – Chiweta, Malawi

Make your way through to the town of Mzuzu, stopping only if there is a need to stock up on fresh food supplies. Your final stop on the lakeshore is at a rustic camp set amongst Baobab trees. The adventurous can walk up the Livingstonia Plateau to see the mission that was built by the Scottish missionaries in 1894. It is sometimes possible to catch a lift with a vehicle going to the top of the plateau. It is advisable to speak to your guides for up to date information on the condition of the road up to the plateau. Camping at Chinteche.

Day 10: Baobab Valley, Iringa, Tanzania

You depart the lake early on your 21 day Victoria Falls to Nairobi tour for the border and cross into Tanzania. You proceed through an ever changing open landscape to your camp near the Ruaha River just north of Iringa. There is a local community project at this camp with the Maasai tribes people, and stunning walks into the surrounding bush and mountains. Great swimming pool, and optional canoe trips on the river. Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner. Camping at Baobab Valley Reserve Camp.

Day 11: Dar-es-Salaam, Tanzania

You proceed to Dar es Salaam on your 21 day Victoria Falls to Nairobi tour and your beach campsite where you will be briefed by your crew on the ferry trip to Zanzibar and what to take with. Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner. Camping at Makadi Beach Camp.

Days 12 – 14: Zanzibar Island, Tanzania

Early morning departure to the harbour where you will catch the ferry over to Zanzibar Island, accompanied by one of your guides. After the immigration and customs formalities have been taken care of you proceed can go check into your hotel. The little Indian Ocean Island of Zanzibar is a cultural melting pot of African, Arabic and Indian cultures. It is renowned for its spice and (never to be forgotten) slave trade. You have two full days on your 21 day Victoria Falls to Nairobi tour to explore this island with its turquoise waters and beautiful palm fringed beaches. Perhaps take an optional boat trip to snorkel with the dolphins or catch a glimpse of the very rare Red Colubus monkey. All meals except for breakfast are to your own expense. Day 15: Dar-es-Salaam, Tanzania

You return to Dar es Salaam and your vehicle where you then depart for your bush camp en route to Arusha. Camping at Makadi Beach Camp.

Day 16: Arusha, Tanzania

Today on your 21 day Victoria Falls to Nairobi tour is a travelling day. Upon arrival in Arusha you start preparations for your excursion into the Serengeti and Ngorongoro National Parks. Arusha is a fairly developed and large town, and known as the ‘safari capital of Tanzania’. You will be able to catch up with banks, communications and shopping as well as sample restaurants, bars and local markets. Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner. Camping at Meseranti Snake Park.

Days 17 – 19: Arusha, Tanzania – Excursion to Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater National Parks

Arusha is the gateway into the Ngorongoro and Serengeti National Parks. Travelling in specialized 4×4 vehicles you view the magnificent game these parks offer. The Serengeti National Park is world renowned for the great Wildebeest migrations and ‘never ending’ tragedies and joys, which accompany them. You also visit the Ngorongoro National Park, the ‘largest’ unbroken caldera in the world, it plays host to up to 25,000 larger mammals and 100 species of bird. It will be an early start, on day 17 of your 21 day Victoria Falls to Nairobi – Northern Trails tour as you are collected at approximately 8.00am from the camp. Pack your day-pack and luggage for the next 3 days into smaller game viewing vehicles with picnic lunch, and head for The Serengeti National Park. There will be game viewing en route, and your overnight camp is at Seronera camp. The following morning you set out for an early morning game drive in the Serengeti and after lunch head for the Ngorongoro National Park – overnight at Simba camp. The next day will find you out on a morning tour of the Crater and in the afternoon returning to your camp at Arusha.

Day 20: Nairobi

You proceed to Kenya and to Nairobi and an end to your fantastic 21 day Victoria Falls to Nairobi Adventure. Camping at Upper Hill Campsite.
